Woven by the Mirgan community in Kotpad village of the Koraput district of Odisha, this weave boasts of India's rich tribal treasures. Made using natural dyes, weaving Kotpad is a time consuming process. Inspired by nature and fauna, you may find fishes, crabs, turtles, birds, flowers, etc woven on the sarees/ fabric using the extra-weft technique. The borders of these sarees usually have the temples woven through inter-locking technique and are commonly called 'Phoda Kumbha'.
