Advika – The Bunavat Exclusives

Binodini-The joyful Advika

The Mishing people are one of Assam’s many indigenous communities, and a community held synonymous with the handloom weaving practiced by its women. If you visit a Mishing village, it is a common sight to see women working on the loom every day, practicing the craft and weaving garments for daily use.

Product Note: Nuni silk has been used in the warp during the weaving process. Nuni silk is the raw silk locally available in the region. It’s a natural form of silk as it’s not processed. The edges of the saree aren’t smooth owing to the type of loom being used by the weavers of the region. This is a handcrafted product from weavers and artisans and therefore, slight variation in colors or design may occur. Any slight irregularities are distinctive and inherent to the beauty of this creation due to the nature of the product.
