Experience the "woven air" of Madhya Pradesh with our exquisite Handwoven Chanderi Silk Cotton. Renowned for its lightweight feel and high-gloss translucency, Chanderi is a heritage textile that has graced royalty for centuries. This specific piece features a sophisticated extra-weft technique, where additional threads are woven into the base fabric to create a raised, jewel-like pattern that appears to float on the surface.

Product Details

Craft: Authentic Handwoven Chanderi from Madhya Pradesh.
Material: A luminous blend of Silk (Warp) and Cotton (Weft).
Design: An elegant arrangement of horizontal extra-weft stripes and blocks. The palette features a rich interplay of deep maroon, vibrant orange, and shimmering silver zari, creating a rhythmic, contemporary geometric pattern.

Dimensions

Length: Sold per 0.5 metre (continuous cut for multiple units).
Width: 45 Inches

Feel & Drape

Texture: Exceptionally fine and sheer with a subtle, characteristic "crackle" and a luxurious silk sheen.
Drape: Crisp and ethereal, it holds its shape beautifully while remaining incredibly light.

Styling Inspiration

With its generous width, this fabric serves as a magnificent open canvas for your bespoke creativity, offering endless possibilities for the discerning maker. We envision it transformed into a regal saree blouse where the silver zari and maroon blocks catch the light, or perhaps a layered festive kurta that plays with the fabric's transparency. Its airy, structured drape also makes it equally suited for a modern overlay jacket that adds a touch of shimmer to any ensemble.

Specifications & Care

Care: Dry clean recommended to preserve the delicate silk fibres and the lustre of the silver zari. Alternatively, a very gentle hand-wash in cold water with mild silk detergent. Dry in shade.
Shipping: Dispatched within 3-8 business days.
Price: Inclusive of 5% GST.
Returns: As this is cut-to-order fabric, no exchanges or returns are applicable.

Note from the Weaver: The beauty of Chanderi lies in its delicate weave. Slight inconsistencies in the extra-weft pattern or small slubs in the silk are not flaws, but evidence of the human hand at the loom, ensuring your garment is a true piece of wearable art.
