The Saree
A nostalgic, vibrant celebration of early autumn mornings in Bengal, the body of this authentic handwoven Dhonekhali masterpiece features a striking horizontal striped layout all over. Crafted with meticulous precision in the historic Dhonekhali weaving clusters of West Bengal, the entire canvas is brought to life by alternating horizontal stripes each exactly 0.5 cm wide in an enchanting blend of crisp lime green, bright orange, and soft dusty rose pink. Framing this colourful, rhythmic body is a grand and highly structured dobby border. The border layout begins at the outermost edge with a thin maroon pinstripe that opens up into a magnificent, 6.5 cm wide solid band in a rich Falu red shade. This bold block of color is followed by an inner maroon pinstripe before culminating beautifully in a traditional maroon temple border, elegantly interspersed with delicate floral motifs handwoven against a soft cream backdrop.
The Pallu
The pallu is a masterclass in playful geometric alignment and cultural symbolism. It features a wonderful, heavy concentration of horizontal stripes in varying widths of pristine white and deep maroon that intersect visually over the shoulder to create a beautiful, highly dynamic block of checks. Grounding this fun and graphic multi-striped layout are two rows of the iconic 'Dhaaner Sheesh' (sheaf of paddy) motif, intricately handwoven in maroon and white extra-weft threads to complete the authentic heritage drape.
The Blouse
This saree is a standalone heritage piece and does not come with a blouse piece. To accentuate its rich, multi-toned accents, pair it with a solid sleeveless Falu red or maroon cotton blouse, a tailored dusty rose pink linen crop top, or a crisp cream boat-neck blouse to elegantly draw attention to the floral detailing in the border.

Note from the Loom: The Dhonekhali weave is celebrated for its lightweight feel and culturally rich motifs. Because this is an authentic hand-loomed product from Hooghly, West Bengal, minor variations in stripe intervals, subtle thread slubs, or gentle colour textures are celebrated characteristics of its fine manual craftsmanship.
Product Note: Being a handwoven product, slight variations in colour, weave, or design are natural and reflect the authentic beauty of handcrafted textiles. The blouses featured in the photoshoots are for representation purposes only and are sold separately.
