The Saree
A vibrant interplay of colour, geometry and traditional Ilkal craftsmanship, the body of the saree is woven from fine, breathable pure cotton in a deep teal green, crisp yellow and light green micro-check pattern. The delicate checks create a gentle, timeless rhythm across the body, bringing together rich teal with the freshness of yellow and light green. The result is a saree that feels lively and contemporary while retaining the quiet sophistication and easy drape of fine handwoven cotton.
Framing this vibrant checkered body is a beautifully detailed traditional Ilkal Gayathri border, woven on a rich red Art Silk (Viscose Rayon) and cotton base. The border is adorned with structured Gayathri geometric motifs in contrasting white, while fine horizontal yellow stripes provide a crisp framing edge along the border. The warm red of the border creates a striking counterpoint to the cool teal body, while the yellow accents create a visual thread between the two. It is a confident colour combination that brings out the distinctive character of the Ilkal weave without losing its traditional grounding.
The Pallu
The magnificent silk pallu brings the heritage and richness of Ilkal weaving into full expression. Masterfully joined directly to the cotton body using the authentic Topi Teni interlocking warp technique, the pallu begins with traditional temple tower motifs (tope), before culminating in the classic Ilkal layout of alternating shimmering red and silver horizontal silk bands.
Touches of rich purple add an unexpected layer of depth to the pallu, complementing the teal and red while giving the traditional silk bands a more vibrant, contemporary character. The luminous silk pallu creates a beautiful transition from the graphic cotton checks to a more celebratory finish, making this saree equally suited to everyday elegance and festive dressing.
The Blouse
Comes with a 75–85 cm running blouse piece in matching fabric, finished with the coordinating Ilkal border to create a cohesive look.

Note from the Loom: This saree is a certified handloom masterpiece from the Ilkal cluster. The Topi Teni technique involves physically interlocking the silk warp of the pallu with the cotton warp of the body. Any minor slubs, tiny irregularities, or thread variations at the joint are prized characteristics of this highly intensive manual process.
Product Note: Being a handwoven product, slight variations in colour, weave, or design are natural and reflect the authentic beauty of handcrafted textiles. The blouses featured in the photoshoots are for representation purposes only and are not for sale.
