The Saree
A vibrant interpretation of Bengal’s handloom heritage, this off-white cotton saree is woven in the Dhonekhali cluster of West Bengal, bringing together an intricate interplay of colour, geometry, and traditional motifs. The serene off-white body is enlivened with alternating red and yellow horizontal lines, creating a lively rhythm across the weave. Interspersed between these lines are delicate rhombus and fish motifs, adding character and a distinctive visual texture to the body. Framing this expressive canvas is a traditional Ganga Jamuna border, further enriched with temple and rhombus motifs that lend the edges an architectural and heritage-inspired character. The combination of warm colours and symbolic motifs makes this saree a striking yet graceful expression of Bengali handloom artistry.
The Pallu
The pallu continues the saree’s rhythmic aesthetic with bands of pale red stripes in varying widths, creating a subtle progression across the drape. Woven into this striped arrangement is the traditional ‘dhaner sheesh’ motif, inspired by the form of a rice ear and deeply connected to Bengal’s cultural and agrarian heritage. The softer red tones of the pallu create a harmonious transition from the vibrant body while preserving the saree’s distinctive handcrafted character.
The Blouse
This saree does not come with a separate blouse piece, offering the freedom to pair it with a blouse in red, yellow, off-white, or another complementary shade. A solid red or yellow blouse can highlight the woven accents, while an off-white blouse offers a more understated and classic look.

Specifications & Care
-
Texture: Lightweight, breathable, and naturally soft, with the comfortable hand-feel characteristic of traditional Dhonekhali cotton. This saree is not starched, giving it a softer, more fluid drape from the very first wear. With use, the cotton can become even softer and more comfortable, making it especially suited to the Indian climate and ideal for everyday wear, summer dressing, cultural occasions, and relaxed festive gatherings.
-
Care Instructions: Since the saree is unstarched, gentle handling is recommended to preserve its woven motifs and colours. Hand wash separately with a mild detergent and dry in shade. Starching can be introduced later if a crisper drape is preferred. Store folded in a clean, dry muslin cloth away from direct sunlight.
