The Saree

A distinctive expression of traditional Ilkal craftsmanship, this saree features a steel blue cotton body with white checks, creating a classic geometric pattern that adds subtle texture and visual interest to the weave. The saree is framed by a traditional Ilkal Chikki Paras border, woven using Art Silk (Viscose Rayon) and cotton, featuring intricate red chikki paras motifs against a sky-blue base. The subtle sheen of the Art Silk enhances the geometric patterns, adding depth and elegance to the saree.

The saree is completed with a striking purple and reddish silver pure silk pallu, creating a beautiful contrast against the striped cotton body. Masterfully joined using the authentic Topi Teni interlocking warp technique, the pallu begins with traditional temple tower motifs (tope) and culminates in alternating purple and reddish silver silk bands. Blending vibrant colours with distinctive traditional weaving techniques, this saree is a timeless choice for festive occasions, cultural gatherings, and special celebrations.

Note from the Loom: This saree is a certified handloom masterpiece from the Ilkal cluster. The Topi Teni technique involves physically interlocking the silk warp of the pallu with the cotton warp of the body. Any minor slubs, tiny irregularities, or thread variations at the joint are prized characteristics of this highly intensive manual process.

Product Note: Being a handwoven product, slight variations in colour, weave, or design are natural and reflect the authentic beauty of handcrafted textiles. The blouses featured in the photoshoots are for representation purposes only and are not for sale.
