The Saree

An exquisite celebration of playful, culinary-inspired tones and traditional geometry, the body of this authentic handwoven Dhonekhali masterpiece is a refreshing sight. Crafted carefully in the historic weaving clusters of West Bengal, the plain-weave body features a delicious, dual-tone blueberry ice cream shade that subtly shifts to reveal a delicate, warm reddish undertone under the light. Framing this dreamy, fluid canvas is a vibrant, highly detailed Naksha Paar dobby border woven in a bright honeysuckle yellow. The border is meticulously layered, starting at the outermost edge with a yellow stripe followed by a crisp white stripe used as an eye-catching highlight. It then opens up into a beautifully detailed floral patterned band, framed again by a matching white and yellow stripe, before culminating elegantly in a running row of traditional temple motifs.

The Pallu

The pallu is a beautifully balanced, modern showcase of rhythmic color-blocking. It features a graphic sequence of horizontal stripes in varying widths, alternating between a warm, beigish yellow and a deep, multi-toned blackcurrant blue. Anchoring this sophisticated striped layout are two prominent rows of the iconic 'Dhaaner Sheesh' (sheaf of paddy) motif—placed thoughtfully almost at the very start and near the end of the pallu—woven in extra-weft threads to preserve the authentic soul of classic Dhonekhali artistry.

The Blouse

This saree is a standalone heritage piece and does not come with a blouse piece. To curate a strikingly chic and polished look, pair it with a solid sleeveless honeysuckle yellow cotton blouse, a tailored blackcurrant or deep berry-toned linen crop top, or a crisp white boat-neck blouse to beautifully tie in with the fine border highlights.

The fabric possesses an incredible quality of growing softer and more supple with every subsequent wash and wear.
  • Care Instructions: Gentle hand wash separately in cold water only using a mild liquid detergent. Avoid drying in direct sunlight to maintain the integrity of the sage green base and the rich maroon and plum dyes.
  • Shipping: Free shipping within India.

Note from the Loom: The Dhonekhali weave is celebrated for its lightweight feel and culturally rich motifs. Because this is an authentic hand-loomed product from Hooghly, West Bengal, minor variations in stripe intervals, subtle thread slubs, or gentle colour textures are celebrated characteristics of its fine manual craftsmanship.

Product Note: Being a handwoven product, slight variations in colour, weave, or design are natural and reflect the authentic beauty of handcrafted textiles. The blouses featured in the photoshoots are for representation purposes only and are sold separately.
