The Saree
A striking study in contrast, geometry and traditional Ilkal craftsmanship, the body of the saree is woven from fine, breathable pure cotton in a light yellow and charcoal black micro-check pattern. The delicate checks create a gentle, timeless geometric rhythm across the body, bringing a graphic quality to the soft, easy drape of cotton. The fresh yellow grounds the saree with warmth, while the fine black checks add definition without overpowering its understated elegance.
Framing this refined checkered body is a beautifully detailed traditional Ilkal border woven on a soft yellow Art Silk (Viscose Rayon) and cotton base. The border features the characteristic structured geometric motifs known as chikki paras, rendered in a contrasting charcoal black. Fine horizontal charcoal black stripes frame the motifs, lending the border a clean architectural finish and a distinct edge to the silhouette. The interplay of the sunny yellow body, graphic black checks and richly defined border gives this saree a wonderfully contemporary interpretation of a classic Ilkal.
The Pallu
The magnificent silk pallu brings the heritage of Ilkal weaving into full expression. Masterfully joined directly to the cotton body using the authentic Topi Teni interlocking warp technique, it showcases one of the defining features of this traditional weave. The transition is adorned with traditional temple tower motifs (tope), before culminating in the classic Ilkal layout of alternating shimmering silver and yellow horizontal silk bands.
The lustrous silver introduces a subtle festive sheen against the warm yellow, while the recurring yellow bands tie the pallu beautifully back to the body. The result is a pallu that feels traditional and celebratory without taking away from the saree's clean, graphic character.
The Blouse
Comes with a 75–85 cm running blouse piece in matching fabric, finished with the coordinating Ilkal border to create a cohesive look.

Note from the Loom: This saree is a certified handloom masterpiece from the Ilkal cluster. The Topi Teni technique involves physically interlocking the silk warp of the pallu with the cotton warp of the body. Any minor slubs, tiny irregularities, or thread variations at the joint are prized characteristics of this highly intensive manual process.

Shipping is free within India for all our orders.
For all international orders, we charge the customer at actuals. We use DHL, Aramex or Fedex depending on the service availability and cost for the location.
We offer return within 3 days of receipt of the order if there is any major defect in the saree/ dupatta or sizing issues with blouses. Please note, no return is accepted for customized stitching orders of blouses or sarees for which fall/edging have been done or pre-order has been placed by the customer. Since these are handmade products, minor irregulaties in weaving or crafting will not be considered a defect, it is in fact a proof of the authenticity of the product.
