The Saree
A study in quiet contrasts, Desk Plant is a handwoven Mangalagiri cotton saree that brings together forest green and slate grey in a sophisticated vertical half-and-half composition.
The saree features Mangalagiri’s distinctive missing-check weave, where fine black and grey lines intersect across the fabric to create a delicate, almost graph-like texture. One half unfolds in a rich forest-emerald green, while the other transitions into a muted slate grey. The restrained palette and fine linear detailing give the saree a contemporary character while retaining the honesty of its handwoven cotton base.
The contrasting Ganga-Jamuna borders respond to the changing colours of the body. The forest-green section is framed by a slate-grey border, while the grey section is edged in green. This thoughtful reversal creates a clean architectural outline and brings balance to the vertical half-and-half design.
The Pallu
The pallu continues the saree’s interplay of forest green, mint and slate grey through broad colour-blocked panels. Fine horizontal lines run across each section, creating a gentle rhythm and adding visual depth without overwhelming the minimal composition.
The pallu ends in hand-knotted tassels, lending movement and an artisanal finish to this quietly striking drape.
The Blouse
Comes with a 75 cm blouse piece featuring two shades of green—soft mint and deep forest—arranged in broad vertical panels. Fine woven lines continue across the fabric, connecting the blouse piece seamlessly with the saree’s understated design language.

Note from the Loom: The missing-check texture is created through a considered arrangement of fine warp and weft lines, leaving subtle spaces within the grid. This gives the fabric its distinctive visual rhythm while allowing the lightweight cotton to remain breathable and fluid.

Shipping is free within India for all our orders.
For all international orders, we charge the customer at actuals. We use DHL, Aramex or Fedex depending on the service availability and cost for the location.
We offer return within 3 days of receipt of the order if there is any major defect in the saree/ dupatta or sizing issues with blouses. Please note, no return is accepted for customized stitching orders of blouses or sarees for which fall/edging have been done or pre-order has been placed by the customer. Since these are handmade products, minor irregulaties in weaving or crafting will not be considered a defect, it is in fact a proof of the authenticity of the product.
