The Saree
A vibrant expression of traditional Ilkal craftsmanship, the saree features a beautifully woven red cotton body that brings warmth, richness and timeless elegance to the drape. Kept predominantly plain, the body allows the depth of the red hue and the natural character of the cotton weave to take centre stage. Its classic colour makes it versatile for both festive occasions and everyday traditional dressing.
Framing the vivid red body is a traditional Ilkal Chikki Paras border, woven using Art Silk (Viscose Rayon) and cotton. The border is highlighted in a vibrant orange hue, with intricate chikki paras motifs creating a structured geometric rhythm along the edges. The subtle sheen of the Art Silk adds depth to the orange and silver detailing, while the warm colour combination of red and orange creates a bold and harmonious traditional aesthetic.
The Pallu
Continuing the rich tonal palette of the saree, the red pure mulberry silk pallu with silver bands create a seamless transition from the body while adding depth and character to the drape. Crafted with the traditional Ilkal aesthetic, the pallu complements the vivid red cotton body and allows the contrasting orange Chikki Paras border to remain a distinctive highlight.
Masterfully joined directly to the cotton body using the authentic Topi Teni interlocking warp technique, it begins with traditional temple tower motifs (tope), before culminating in the classic Ilkal layout of alternating shimmering red and silver silk bands.
The tonal red-on-red composition gives the saree a refined and cohesive appearance, while the vibrant orange border adds just the right amount of contrast.
The Blouse
Comes with a 63 cm running blouse piece in coordinating fabric, allowing you to create a cohesive blouse that complements the saree beautifully.

Note from the Loom: This saree is a certified handloom masterpiece from the Ilkal cluster. The Topi Teni technique involves physically interlocking the silk warp of the pallu with the cotton warp of the body. Any minor slubs, tiny irregularities, or thread variations at the joint are prized characteristics of this highly intensive manual process.

Shipping is free within India for all our orders.
For all international orders, we charge the customer at actuals. We use DHL, Aramex or Fedex depending on the service availability and cost for the location.
We offer return within 3 days of receipt of the order if there is any major defect in the saree/ dupatta or sizing issues with blouses. Please note, no return is accepted for customized stitching orders of blouses or sarees for which fall/edging have been done or pre-order has been placed by the customer. Since these are handmade products, minor irregulaties in weaving or crafting will not be considered a defect, it is in fact a proof of the authenticity of the product.
