The Saree
A bold study in geometry, contrast and traditional Ilkal craftsmanship, the body of the saree is woven from fine, breathable pure cotton in a black and beige double-check pattern. The larger checks create a stronger geometric rhythm than a micro-check, giving the saree a confident, graphic character while retaining the timeless appeal of a classic checked handloom. The contrast between deep black and warm beige makes the body remarkably versatile, allowing the saree to transition effortlessly from understated workwear to more elevated dressing.
Framing this striking checkered body is a beautifully detailed traditional Ilkal Gayathri border, woven on an Art Silk (Viscose Rayon) and cotton base in rich red and mustard yellow. The border is intricately adorned with structured Gayathri geometric motifs in contrasting silver, while fine horizontal silver stripes provide a clean framing edge. The metallic detailing catches the light beautifully against the warm red and mustard base, adding a touch of quiet richness to the otherwise graphic composition.
The Pallu
The magnificent red silk pallu brings a vibrant and luxurious counterpoint to the black and beige body. Masterfully joined directly to the cotton body using the authentic Topi Teni interlocking warp technique, it begins with traditional temple tower motifs (tope), before opening into the classic Ilkal pallu layout of shimmering silver silk bands.
Touches of yellow add warmth and brightness to the pallu, creating a beautiful dialogue with the mustard tones of the border. The luminous red silk and silver bands bring an unmistakable festive richness to the drape, while the traditional construction keeps the saree firmly rooted in its Ilkal heritage.
The Blouse
Comes with a 75–85 cm running blouse piece in matching fabric, finished with the coordinating Ilkal border to create a cohesive look.

Note from the Loom: This saree is a certified handloom masterpiece from the Ilkal cluster. The Topi Teni technique involves physically interlocking the silk warp of the pallu with the cotton warp of the body. Any minor slubs, tiny irregularities, or thread variations at the joint are prized characteristics of this highly intensive manual process.
Product Note: Being a handwoven product, slight variations in colour, weave, or design are natural and reflect the authentic beauty of handcrafted textiles. The blouses featured in the photoshoots are for representation purposes only and are not for sale.
