The Saree
A brilliant triumph of organic, earthy tones and crisp structural alignment, the body of this authentic handwoven Dhonekhali masterpiece features a clever, highly modern checkered layout. Crafted with exceptional skill in the historic Dhonekhali weaving clusters of West Bengal, the entire canvas is built on broad, 1-inch wide stripes that intersect to form an incredibly engaging grid. The vertical lines run in a clean combination of white and vibrant green, while the horizontal bands introduce a beautiful contrast of deep charcoal grey, crisp white, and matching green. This unique palette gives the checks a highly versatile, playful yet polished look that effortlessly commands authority in formal boardrooms and adds a refined elegance to festive gatherings.
The border layout is a breathtaking visual spectacle. It opens at the outermost edge with a fine, 0.5 cm chocolate brown dobby pinstripe, leading into a grand 3-inch wide solid band in a rich green shade. Because this green band intersects directly with the multi-toned vertical body stripes, it creates a spectacular optical illusion of alternating vertical bands in shifting classic green and soft mint green shades. This fluid frame is followed by an inner 0.5 cm chocolate brown stripe before culminating beautifully in a majestic, 1.5-inch wide ornate Naksha border featuring a detailed, running row of traditional paisley and chevron motifs handwoven in rich chocolate brown.
The Pallu
The pallu is a beautiful celebration of linear rhythm and traditional symbolism. It features a sequence of horizontal stripes in green and white, woven in varying widths with a prominent, wide green band taking center stage. Anchoring this modern layout are two prominent rows of the iconic 'Dhaaner Sheesh' (sheaf of paddy) motif, meticulously handwoven in rich green and white extra-weft threads to deliver a clean, sophisticated heritage finish over the shoulder.
The Blouse
This saree is a standalone heritage piece and does not come with a blouse piece. To create a sharp, highly contemporary look, pair it with a solid sleeveless charcoal grey cotton blouse, a tailored chocolate brown linen crop top, or a crisp white boat-neck blouse to elegantly match the bright tones of the checkered body.

Specifications & Care
- Texture: Exceptionally lightweight, highly breathable, and perfectly suited for the nuances of Indian weather. This saree arrives starched to hold a crisp, pristine form right out of the box. While we recommend light starching to maintain its signature, sophisticated structure, it can absolutely be worn and maintained without starch as well. If you prefer a completely fluid drape, we recommend soaking the saree overnight in salt water to easily remove the starch. The fabric possesses an incredible quality of growing softer, more fluid, and more supple with every subsequent wash and wear.
- Care Instructions: Gentle hand wash separately in cold water only using a mild liquid detergent. Do not wring or squeeze excessively. Avoid drying in direct sunlight to maintain the distinct brilliance of the turmeric yellow and green hand-dyed yarns.
- Shipping: Free shipping within India.
- Delivery: Dispatched and delivered within 3–8 business days from the date of your order.
