The Saree

A vibrant study in colour, contrast and traditional Ilkal craftsmanship, the body of the saree is woven from fine, breathable pure cotton in a rich magenta-purple hue. Kept entirely plain, the body allows the depth of the colour and the beauty of the handwoven cotton to take centre stage. Its clean, uninterrupted surface creates a soothing visual rhythm while offering the versatility of a classic solid-coloured saree, beautifully offset by the more elaborate traditional border.

Framing this vivid body is a striking Ilkal Chikki Paras border, woven on a deep ferozi blue Art Silk (Viscose Rayon) and cotton base. The border is intricately adorned with traditional structured chikki paras motifs in contrasting white and magenta, creating a lively geometric interplay against the dark blue ground. Fine horizontal mustard yellow stripes frame the border, adding a warm accent and a crisp structural edge to the silhouette. The unexpected combination of magenta-purple, ferozi blue, white and mustard gives this Ilkal a particularly vibrant and contemporary colour story while staying true to its traditional design vocabulary.

The Pallu

The magnificent ferozi blue silk pallu brings depth and luminosity to the saree. Masterfully joined directly to the cotton body using the authentic Topi Teni interlocking warp technique, it begins with traditional temple tower motifs (tope), before culminating in the classic Ilkal pallu layout of shimmering silver silk bands.

The cool, jewel-like ferozi silk creates a beautiful contrast against the warm magenta-purple cotton body, while the silver bands introduce a subtle festive sheen. Together, the pallu and border create a richly layered finish that makes this saree equally compelling for elegant everyday dressing and special occasions.

The Blouse

Comes with a 75–85 cm running blouse piece in matching fabric, finished with the coordinating Ilkal border to create a cohesive look.

Note from the Loom: This saree is a certified handloom masterpiece from the Ilkal cluster. The Topi Teni technique involves physically interlocking the silk warp of the pallu with the cotton warp of the body. Any minor slubs, tiny irregularities, or thread variations at the joint are prized characteristics of this highly intensive manual process.

Product Note: Being a handwoven product, slight variations in colour, weave, or design are natural and reflect the authentic beauty of handcrafted textiles. The blouses featured in the photoshoots are for representation purposes only and are not for sale.
