The Saree
Radiating quiet warmth and timeless elegance, this exclusive handwoven Kora saree from Bunavat's Punchiri collection is a graceful tribute to India's festive spirit. Woven on a soft light yellow Kora base, the saree captures the gentle glow of early morning sunlight, lending the drape an effortless luminosity. Crafted from an exquisite blend of silk and ultra-fine 150-count handspun cotton, the fabric is exceptionally lightweight, naturally translucent and remarkably soft, flowing with an almost weightless grace. The delicate Kora weave celebrates simplicity while offering a luxurious drape that is both refined and enduring.
Framing this luminous canvas are classic thin bronze-gold zari borders that lend the saree a subtle festive sheen. Running delicately along both sides of the borders are intricate hand block-printed motifs in deep dark plum and warm bronze, thoughtfully placed to create a harmonious interplay between weave and print. The rich plum motifs offer a beautiful contrast against the soft yellow base, adding depth and quiet sophistication without disturbing the saree's minimalist aesthetic. The result is a drape that feels understated yet celebratory, making it equally suited for Onam festivities, temple visits, intimate celebrations and elegant daytime occasions.
The Pallu
The pallu continues the saree's refined narrative with understated brilliance. Spanning approximately fifteen inches, it features finely woven bronze-gold zari stripes, each placed at half-inch intervals to create a measured rhythm of light and texture. The clean, linear composition beautifully highlights the natural translucence of the Kora weave before concluding with meticulously handcrafted tassels that lend the drape an elegant artisanal finish. Every detail reflects the quiet luxury and thoughtful craftsmanship that define the Punchiri collection.
The Blouse
The saree comes with a matching blouse piece woven on the same soft Kora base and adorned with continuous dark plum geometric hand block prints throughout. Tailor it into a timeless elbow-sleeved blouse for traditional elegance, a sophisticated boat-neck silhouette for contemporary refinement, or a sleeveless blouse that allows the saree's fluid drape and handcrafted details to take centre stage.
