The Saree
Warm, cheerful and effortlessly elegant, this exclusive handwoven saree from Bunavat's Punchiri collection captures the gentle glow of Kerala's festive mornings. Woven on a soft light yellow base, the saree radiates quiet optimism while celebrating the understated beauty of handcrafted textiles. Crafted from an exquisite blend of silk and ultra-fine 150-count handspun cotton, the fabric is naturally translucent, exceptionally lightweight and wonderfully butter-soft, offering a fluid drape that feels almost weightless. Scattered delicately across the body are tiny rai dana (mustard seed)-inspired hand block prints in a fresh green hue. These finely placed polka motifs lend the saree an airy rhythm and organic charm, creating a composition that feels both playful and sophisticated.
Framing this luminous canvas are classic thin bronze-gold zari borders that lend the saree a subtle festive shimmer. Running alongside both the upper and lower borders are closely arranged floral hand block prints in warm bronze, introducing a beautiful handcrafted texture that complements the simplicity of the body. The harmonious combination of soft yellow, fresh green and warm metallic accents evokes the abundance and joy of harvest season, making this saree a graceful choice for Onam celebrations, temple visits, intimate festivities and elegant daytime occasions.
The Pallu
The pallu continues the saree's botanical narrative with understated refinement. It opens with a graceful row of turned floral hand block-printed motifs in rich green, creating a striking visual accent against the soft yellow weave. This seamlessly transitions into a fifteen-inch panel of finely woven bronze-gold zari stripes, each thoughtfully spaced half an inch apart to create a gentle rhythm of light and texture. The pallu concludes with meticulously handcrafted tassels, adding an elegant artisanal finish that perfectly reflects the quiet luxury of the Punchiri collection.
The Blouse
The saree comes with a matching blouse piece woven on the same soft light yellow base and adorned with a geometric green grid hand block print throughout. The structured pattern beautifully complements the delicate rai dana motifs on the saree while offering a contemporary contrast. Tailor it into a timeless elbow-sleeved blouse for classic elegance, a sophisticated boat-neck silhouette for modern refinement, or a sleeveless blouse that lets the handcrafted details shine.
