The Saree

Refined, contemporary and quietly luxurious, this exclusive handwoven saree from Bunavat's Punchiri collection celebrates the beauty of geometry interpreted through the language of handcrafted textiles. Woven on an elegant natural Kora base, the saree embodies understated sophistication, allowing the richness of its weave and artisanal detailing to take centre stage. Crafted from an exquisite blend of silk and ultra-fine 150-count handspun cotton, the fabric is naturally translucent, exceptionally lightweight and wonderfully butter-soft, creating a fluid drape that feels effortless from morning celebrations to evening gatherings.

The body is adorned with an all-over geometric hand block print in a warm bronze-beige hue. Repeating rhythmically across the luminous Kora weave, the motif lends the saree a sense of structure while retaining the softness and character unique to hand block printing. Framing the composition are classic thin bronze-gold zari borders that introduce a gentle festive shimmer without overwhelming the elegant minimalism of the design. The harmonious palette of natural Kora, warm bronze and subtle metallic accents makes this saree a timeless choice for Onam celebrations, festive occasions, cultural gatherings and elegant daywear.

The Pallu

One of the defining features of this saree is its striking double pallu, extending to an impressive two metres in length. Continuing the geometric narrative of the body, the pallu carries the same hand block print, thoughtfully interspersed with alternating impressions in a rich dark plum, creating depth, contrast and visual rhythm while remaining beautifully understated.

The patterned expanse gracefully transitions into a fifteen-inch panel of finely woven bronze-gold zari stripes, each spaced half an inch apart to create a delicate play of light and texture. Finished with meticulously handcrafted tassels, the double pallu drapes with remarkable elegance, offering endless styling possibilities while reflecting the quiet luxury that defines the Punchiri collection.

The Blouse

The saree comes with a matching blouse piece woven on the same elegant Kora base and adorned with delicate rai dana (mustard seed)-inspired hand block prints in a rich dark plum. The fine polka motifs provide a beautiful contrast to the structured geometry of the saree, creating a balanced and sophisticated pairing. Tailor it into a timeless elbow-sleeved blouse for classic elegance, a contemporary boat-neck silhouette, or a chic sleeveless blouse that lets the handcrafted details take centre stage.
