The Saree

A masterclass in tonal restraint and graphic balance, Tonal Shift brings a quietly striking monochrome sensibility to the expressive language of Pochampally Ikat.

The warm sand-coloured body is covered in ivory geometric and floral Ikat motifs. Hexagonal forms hold stylised flowers and rhombuses within them, coming together in a rhythmic, all-over composition. The softly feathered outlines reveal the beauty of the resist-dyed yarns, while the neutral palette allows the intricacy of the pattern to take centre stage.

Framing the body is a bold black border woven with ivory rhombuses held within bracket-like geometric forms. The deep border creates a strong architectural outline against the light body, giving the saree its distinctive high-contrast character.

The Pallu

The pallu shifts dramatically into black, creating a graphic counterpoint to the warm sand body. Broad horizontal bands alternate between the deep base and sand-to-ochre panels carrying ivory motifs similar to those seen across the saree.

Fine linear stripes separate the patterned sections, lending order and rhythm to the composition. The result is a pallu that feels structured and expressive, completing the saree’s transition from soft, tonal geometry to bold contrast.

The Blouse

The saree comes with a 75 cm blouse piece in classic black. Its restrained colour allows it to complement the graphic border and pallu while keeping the focus on the intricately patterned body.
