The Saree
A refreshing expression of traditional Ilkal craftsmanship, this saree features a beautifully woven mantis green cotton body that brings a soft, elegant and contemporary character to the drape. Kept predominantly plain, the body allows the delicate green hue and natural texture of the cotton weave to take centre stage. Its understated colour creates a versatile canvas, beautifully balanced by the deeper green border and contrasting red Chikki Paras detailing.
Framing the pista green body is a striking leaf green border, woven using Art Silk (Viscose Rayon) and cotton. The border is enriched with a traditional rust and silver Chikki Paras pattern, creating a beautiful contrast against the leaf green ground. The geometric chikki paras motifs add structure and visual rhythm, while the subtle sheen of the Art Silk enhances the depth of the darker border. The combination of manti green, leaf green and vibrant rust and silver creates a balanced colour palette that feels both traditional and contemporary.s
The Pallu
The saree is finished with a dark leaf green pure mulberry silk pallu, creating a rich tonal contrast against the lighter mantis green body. Its deeper shade adds depth to the overall drape while maintaining a harmonious connection with the border.
Masterfully joined directly to the cotton body using the authentic Topi Teni interlocking warp technique, it begins with traditional temple tower motifs (tope), before culminating in the classic Ilkal layout of alternating shimmering silver and leaf green bands.
Together, the softer mantis green body, leaf green border and pallu, and touches of rust/silver create an elegant colour story rooted in traditional Ilkal aesthetics.

Note from the Loom: This saree is a certified handloom masterpiece from the Ilkal cluster. The Topi Teni technique involves physically interlocking the silk warp of the pallu with the cotton warp of the body. Any minor slubs, tiny irregularities, or thread variations at the joint are prized characteristics of this highly intensive manual process.

Shipping is free within India for all our orders.
For all international orders, we charge the customer at actuals. We use DHL, Aramex or Fedex depending on the service availability and cost for the location.
We offer return within 3 days of receipt of the order if there is any major defect in the saree/ dupatta or sizing issues with blouses. Please note, no return is accepted for customized stitching orders of blouses or sarees for which fall/edging have been done or pre-order has been placed by the customer. Since these are handmade products, minor irregulaties in weaving or crafting will not be considered a defect, it is in fact a proof of the authenticity of the product.
