The Saree
A sophisticated expression of traditional Ilkal craftsmanship, this saree features a light brown cotton body enriched with a classic black check pattern. The checks create a structured yet understated visual rhythm across the body, adding depth and character while retaining the natural, earthy appeal of the cotton weave. The warm neutral palette gives the saree a timeless quality, making it an elegant choice for both everyday wear and traditional occasions.
Framing the checked body is a distinctive Ilkal Chikki Paras border, woven using Art Silk (Viscose Rayon) and cotton. The border features traditional chikki paras motifs in dark brown and silver, creating a striking geometric contrast against the earthy base. The subtle lustre of the Art Silk adds dimension to the border, while the combination of dark brown and white brings definition to the intricate traditional pattern.
The Pallu
The saree is finished with a bold black and silver pallu, creating a dramatic contrast against the warm light brown body. Its deep tone adds depth to the overall composition while complementing the dark brown checks and the darker elements of the Chikki Paras border.
Masterfully joined directly to the cotton body using the authentic Topi Teni interlocking warp technique, it begins with traditional temple tower motifs (tope), before culminating in the classic Ilkal layout of alternating shimmering black and silver silk bands.
The transition from the earthy checked body to the black pallu gives the saree a refined and contemporary character, while the traditional border keeps the overall aesthetic rooted in classic Ilkal craftsmanship.

Comes with a 76 cm running blouse piece in coordinating fabric, allowing for a cohesive look that complements the saree's earthy colour palette and traditional detailing.

Note from the Loom: This saree is a certified handloom masterpiece from the Ilkal cluster. The Topi Teni technique involves physically interlocking the silk warp of the pallu with the cotton warp of the body. Any minor slubs, tiny irregularities, or thread variations at the joint are prized characteristics of this highly intensive manual process.

Shipping is free within India for all our orders.
For all international orders, we charge the customer at actuals. We use DHL, Aramex or Fedex depending on the service availability and cost for the location.
We offer return within 3 days of receipt of the order if there is any major defect in the saree/ dupatta or sizing issues with blouses. Please note, no return is accepted for customized stitching orders of blouses or sarees for which fall/edging have been done or pre-order has been placed by the customer. Since these are handmade products, minor irregulaties in weaving or crafting will not be considered a defect, it is in fact a proof of the authenticity of the product.
