The Saree
A graceful study in colour, geometry and traditional Ilkal craftsmanship, the body of the saree is woven from fine, breathable pure cotton in an onion pink and crisp steel blue micro-check pattern. The delicate checks create a gentle, timeless rhythm across the body, bringing together the softness of pink with the cool, refined character of steel blue. Subtle yet distinctive, the fine checks lend the saree a contemporary graphic quality while retaining the quiet elegance of handwoven cotton.
Framing this light, checkered body is a beautifully detailed traditional Ilkal border woven on a soft baby pink Art Silk (Viscose Rayon) and cotton base. The border is intricately adorned with traditional structured geometric motifs known as chikki paras, rendered in a contrasting deep black. Fine horizontal black stripes frame the motifs, giving the border a clean architectural finish and a distinct edge to the silhouette. The combination of the soft pink base, graphic black geometry and cool-toned cotton checks creates a beautifully balanced colour story—delicate, but with just the right amount of definition.
The Pallu
The magnificent silk pallu brings the rich heritage of Ilkal weaving into full expression. Masterfully joined directly to the cotton body using the authentic Topi Teni interlocking warp technique, it showcases one of the defining features of this storied weave. The transition is adorned with traditional temple tower motifs (tope), before culminating in the classic Ilkal layout of alternating shimmering silver and rich maroon silk bands.
The lustrous silver adds a subtle festive glow, while the deep maroon introduces warmth and richness against the cooler pink and steel blue body. Together, they create a pallu that brings depth and occasion-worthy character to an otherwise light and versatile saree.
The Blouse
Comes with a 75–85 cm running blouse piece in matching fabric, finished with the coordinating Ilkal border to create a cohesive look.

Note from the Loom: This saree is a certified handloom masterpiece from the Ilkal cluster. The Topi Teni technique involves physically interlocking the silk warp of the pallu with the cotton warp of the body. Any minor slubs, tiny irregularities, or thread variations at the joint are prized characteristics of this highly intensive manual process.
Product Note: Being a handwoven product, slight variations in colour, weave, or design are natural and reflect the authentic beauty of handcrafted textiles. The blouses featured in the photoshoots are for representation purposes only and are not for sale.
