The Saree
A tender and romantic celebration of classic Bengal craftsmanship, the body of this authentic handwoven Dhonekhali masterpiece is softly captivating. Woven with immense artistic precision in the historic Dhonekhali clusters of West Bengal, the canvas is dipped in a feminine and soft dusty rose pink shade that lends a gentle, elegant grace to the drape. This beautiful pastel backdrop is illuminated by exquisite diamond-shaped extra-weft motifs handwoven in a contrasting beige-yellow. The weavers have laid these motifs out in an intricate, evenly spaced diamond matrix pattern across the fabric, adding a subtle layer of rhythm and visual interest to the body.
Framing this delicate canvas is a beautiful 3-inch wide border in a contrasting pastel peach shade. The border layout is highly architectural, opening at the outermost edge with a solid 1-inch band where the plain pastel peach base takes center stage. This leads into a contrasting plum-coloured dobby line and opens up into a magnificent geometric-floral Naksha Paar panel. To give the silhouette a perfectly tailored, immaculate edge, this central floral band is intricately flanked on both sides by a running row of miniature temple motifs.
The Pallu
The pallu is a masterfully detailed, symmetric show-stopper filled with deep, extra-weft storytelling that beautifully contrasts the soft body. It features a heavy cluster of horizontal stripes in varying widths of a rich, deep plum colour, interspersed with lines of traditional 'Dhaaner Sheesh' (sheaf of paddy) motifs running through them in a blend of pastel peach and plum tones. At the center of the pallu, a beautifully placed line of distinct extra-weft geometric motifs breaks the linear flow. This central artwork is perfectly bookended on the other side by an identical cluster of deep plum stripes, gracefully transitioning into a repeating sequence of spaced stripe-pairs that extends to the very end of the drape.
The Blouse
This saree is a standalone heritage piece and does not come with a blouse piece. To accentuate its soft pink and warm pastel undertones, pair it with a solid sleeveless deep plum cotton blouse to pick up the rich shades of the pallu, a tailored pastel peach linen crop top, or a contrasting beige-yellow boat-neck blouse to elegantly match the extra-weft diamond motifs.

Specifications & Care
- Texture: Exceptionally lightweight, highly breathable, and perfectly suited for the nuances of Indian weather. This saree arrives starched to hold a crisp, pristine form right out of the box. While we recommend light starching to maintain its signature, sophisticated structure, it can absolutely be worn and maintained without starch as well. If you prefer a completely fluid drape, we recommend soaking the saree overnight in salt water to easily remove the starch. The fabric possesses an incredible quality of growing softer, more fluid, and more supple with every subsequent wash and wear.
- Care Instructions: Gentle hand wash separately in cold water only using a mild liquid detergent. Do not wring or squeeze excessively. Avoid drying in direct sunlight to maintain the distinct brilliance of the turmeric yellow and green hand-dyed yarns.
