The Saree
A masterclass in geometric structure and dramatic paneling, the body of this authentic handwoven Dhonekhali masterpiece is an absolute visual triumph. Crafted with remarkable skill in the historic Dhonekhali weaving clusters of West Bengal, the entire canvas is divided horizontally into three striking colour bands that stretch across the length of the saree. Running through this entire trisection is a subtle, elegant Jharna (waterfall) textured design handwoven in a light yellow shade.
The colour layout is beautifully balanced: the upper and lower bands, flanking the borders are approximately 7.5 to 8 inches wide and dipped in a unique pomelo olive shade. The expansive middle section spans 26 inches wide and is dipped in a rich, deep maroon. Adding a layer of exquisite complexity, the pomelo olive panels are adorned with diamond-inspired extra-weft geometric motifs woven in maroon threads, while the central maroon band reverses the contrast, showcasing the exact same diamond motifs handwoven in a vibrant yellow-orange thread.
Framing this grand paneling is a regal, 3-inch wide border featuring a magnificent Naksha Paar panel. Detailed with intricately woven floral and foliage motifs in shimmering golden-yellow threads, the artwork is crisply enhanced and framed by a deliberate sequence of rich maroon and deep green pinstripes.
The Pallu
The pallu serves as an energetic extension of the saree's multi-toned color narrative, weaving together a rhythmic cluster of horizontal stripes in yellow, maroon, and green. Grounding this striking linear design over the shoulder are rows of the iconic 'Dhaaner Sheesh' (sheaf of paddy) motif, meticulously handwoven in alternating yellow and maroon extra-weft threads positioned thoughtfully at the beginning and the end of the pallu stripes.
The Blouse
This saree is a standalone heritage piece and does not come with a blouse piece. To accentuate its rich, autumnal trisection, pair it with a solid sleeveless maroon cotton blouse to draw out the central panel, a tailored olive green linen crop top, or a contrasting mustard yellow boat-neck blouse to complement the golden-yellow Naksha Paar and Jharna details.

Specifications & Care
- Texture: Exceptionally lightweight, highly breathable, and perfectly suited for the nuances of Indian weather. This saree arrives starched to hold a crisp, pristine form right out of the box. While we recommend light starching to maintain its signature, sophisticated structure, it can absolutely be worn and maintained without starch as well. If you prefer a completely fluid drape, we recommend soaking the saree overnight in salt water to easily remove the starch. The fabric possesses an incredible quality of growing softer, more fluid, and more supple with every subsequent wash and wear.
- Care Instructions: Gentle hand wash separately in cold water only using a mild liquid detergent. Do not wring or squeeze excessively. Avoid drying in direct sunlight to maintain the distinct brilliance of the turmeric yellow and green hand-dyed yarns.
- Shipping: Free shipping within India.
- Delivery: Dispatched and delivered within 3–8 business days from the date of your order.
