The Story
Rooted in abstract geometry and quiet sophistication, the KAZIMIR: Green saree balances serene colourways with structured artistic forms. Handwoven in Bengal from butter-soft Mulberry silk, the drape features a serene Sage Green base anchored along the lower skirt with neatly spaced, chevron-patterned blocks in crisp Off-White, vibrant Orange, Indigo, Lavender, and deep Purple. Hand-blocked using traditional wax-resist Batik techniques with azo-free dyes, delicate crackle veining threads softly through the fabric to impart an authentic, hand-carved finish.
The Pallu & Blouse
The composition reaches its zenith in the expressive pallu, where the subtle chevron motifs explode into a sweeping, abstract geometric tapestry—introducing warm Beige-Brown accents to complement the Indigo, Orange, and Lavender palette. Remarkably lightweight with a soft, liquid-like fall, KAZIMIR: Green moves effortlessly from high-powered daytime meetings to an evening soirée or an intimate dinner gathering. The saree comes complete with a coordinating blouse piece designed to accentuate its refined artistic flair.

The Inspiration
Inspired by abstract art and modern design movements, we have explored the quiet power of form and flow. Finding beauty in the essential — a curve, a line, a geometric frame — and reimagining them as carriers of emotion, movement, and pause. Much like a brushstroke or a sculpted edge, these forms speak in subtleties: the suggestion of rhythm, the hint of stillness, the harmony of contrasts. The collection draws on the belief that form is never static — it holds memory, motion, and meaning within its contours.
The Collection
In Akaar, circles, lines, and shapes transcend their outlines to become woven poetry on silk — brought to life through the centuries-old craft of wax-resist Batik.
Each motif is first hand-drawn with hot wax, the cracks that form lending an organic, unpredictable beauty. When the cloth is dyed, these fine fissures bloom into intricate, almost celestial patterns, each telling its own unrepeatable story. Layer upon layer of wax and colour build depth, much like brushstrokes in a painting.
Crafted laboriously by skilled women artisans from the hinterlands of Bengal, every saree in Akaar is a singular expression — one of one — where the precision of form meets the fluidity of hand and the quiet poetry of imperfection.
The base fabric is a luxurious, soft and flowy handwoven Mulberry silk from Bengal.
Artisan
The hand Batik has been done on these sarees by Kajol Di and her team of every skilled women artisans in the Medinipur district of West Bengal. The hand drawing has been done by Surajit and Ashok Da which was then passed over to Kajol Di's team for the wax application and dyeing.
