The Saree

A timeless, nostalgic journey into the heart of Bengal’s handloom heritage, the body of this authentic handwoven Dhonekhali masterpiece is effortlessly graceful. Meticulously crafted in the historic weaving clusters of West Bengal, the main canvas opens with a crisp, classic white base that epitomizes summer elegance. Running horizontally across the entire body are ultra-thin green pinstripes, placed perfectly equidistant from one another. This clean, minimalist stripe play gives the fabric a rhythmic, sophisticated structure while allowing the airy white base to breathe beautifully.

Framing this crisp, evergreen body is an elegant Naksha Paar dobby border that brings a gorgeous depth to the drape. The border architecture features a beautifully detailed central panel showcasing traditional temple and chevron patterns handwoven in a rich olive green. This artistic center is crisply flanked at the outermost edge by a sequence of three solid 1 cm wide stripes, starting in olive green, transitioning through a bright, sun-kissed yellow, and ending with a final olive green band at the very edge of the fabric.

The Pallu

The pallu serves as a stunning, high-contrast extension of the saree's traditional colour story, bringing together the crisp white, olive green, and bright yellow accents in a classic Dhonekhali layout. It features an energetic, heavy cluster of horizontal stripes in varying widths of green and yellow that stand out brilliantly against the white base. Grounding this striking linear design are rows of the iconic 'Dhaaner Sheesh' (sheaf of paddy) motif, meticulously handwoven in alternating green and yellow extra-weft threads positioned thoughtfully near the beginning and the end of the pallu canvas.

The Blouse

This saree is a standalone heritage piece and does not come with a blouse piece. To create a sharp, highly sophisticated look, pair it with a solid sleeveless olive green cotton blouse, a tailored mustard yellow crop top, or a contrasting boat-neck block-printed blouse to add a touch of personal flair to the elegant white pinstriped body.

Specifications & Care

  • Texture: Exceptionally lightweight, highly breathable, and perfectly suited for the nuances of Indian weather. This saree arrives starched to hold a crisp, pristine form right out of the box. While we recommend light starching to maintain its signature, sophisticated structure, it can absolutely be worn and maintained without starch as well. If you prefer a completely fluid drape, we recommend soaking the saree overnight in salt water to easily remove the starch. The fabric possesses an incredible quality of growing softer, more fluid, and more supple with every subsequent wash and wear.
  • Care Instructions: Gentle hand wash separately in cold water only using a mild liquid detergent. Do not wring or squeeze excessively. Avoid drying in direct sunlight to maintain the distinct brilliance of the turmeric yellow and green hand-dyed yarns.
  • Shipping: Free shipping within India.
  • Delivery: Dispatched and delivered within 3–8 business days from the date of your order.

Note from the Loom: The Dhonekhali weave is celebrated for its lightweight feel and culturally rich motifs. Because this is an authentic hand-loomed product from Hooghly, West Bengal, minor variations in stripe intervals, subtle thread slubs, or gentle colour textures are celebrated characteristics of its fine manual craftsmanship.

Product Note: Being a handwoven product, slight variations in colour, weave, or design are natural and reflect the authentic beauty of handcrafted textiles. The blouses featured in the photoshoots are for representation purposes only and are sold separately.
